Myrna Bahura was suffering from a closed fracture of her medial third left femur due to a vehicular accident when Operation Blessing saw her during its relief effort in Mundo Hill, Marilog District, Davao City.
Through the help of Simbahang Kristiyano, OB’s church partner in Davao, Myrna was brought to Tebow Cure Hospital to be checked up. She was then advised to undergo a laminectomy operation to decompress her spinal cord T4 nerves, which caused her pain and the inability to walk.
To ensure Myrna will receive proper treatment, OB offered to cover the amount of P50,000 for her hospital bills.
Myrna responded well to treatment and after the operation, she was able to stand on her own with the support of a walker. She was also taught self-exercises to do at home.
“I feel better now. I am beginning to walk with the help of a walker and my legs are starting to become normal again. I am thankful to Operation Blessing for taking good care of me—from providing me with food and accommodation to shouldering my medical expenses.”
Recently, our team visited their place at Marilog District to hand over some food supplies and hygiene kits for Myrna and her family. With great delight, she shared about her life-changing experience and gratitude to OB for the help she received.
“I am in tears with happiness knowing that a lot of people I haven’t even met had contributed to ensuring my well-being. Because of this, I am also motivated to offer help to other people in my own ways,” Myrna said.
Myrna mentioned that while she was in the hospital, she used to assist other patients in dressing their wounds and loved to encourage them with God’s Word.
“My accident became an eye-opener for me. My faith had grown deeper and I felt the need to help others grow in theirs. So I pray for my fellow patients and we read and memorize the Scripture together.”
Thanks to your generosity, Myrna is healing well at her home in Davao.
