All in to Bless Community of Hope – Palanog

Operation Blessing (OB) staff have pledged to support the building of one house in OB’s Community of Hope-Palanog Subdivision Project. Each member committed to give a donation monthly for a year, in varied amounts as the Lord impressed upon them.

OB plans to build 350 permanent shelters in the 6.4 hectare land in Palanog, Tacloban, which will cater to Typhoon Yolanda survivors who are still living in temporary shelters.

In addition to this, there will also be an agricultural farm area, a market, a tricycle and pedicab (cycle rickshaw) terminal and parking space, a health center, day care center, multi-purpose center, parks for children and the elderly, and a youth activity and recreation area.

A groundbreaking ceremony was held last February 4, attended by OB’s leaders; representatives from partners HILTI Foundation – Base Bahay, Inc., the Institute of Studies in Asian Church and Culture (ISACC), and Kabalikat Para sa Maunlad na Buhay, Inc. (KMBI); Tacloban City Mayor Alfred Romualdez and other members of the local government; and the prospective beneficiaries.

One month after, on March 4, at their annual All-Staff Meeting, OB staff members were reminded that giving to this cause could open the door for more of God’s blessings to enter their own lives. But more than anything, it was about giving their share in the project that has grown dear to their hearts.
