Operation Blessing equips financially needy individuals, especially parents of children enrolled in its Bless-a-Child and Back-to-School Programs, with practical training, tools and resources, such as self-help seminars essential to attaining economic self-sufficiency. The foundation also assists individuals and families in setting up small-scale businesses to help improve their socio-economic condition, while teaching and encouraging them to save and make good use of their money through the Bayanihan Banking Program.
Bayanihan Banking Program
Communities where OB programs are conducted are encouraged to set-up their own cooperative-type saving scheme and later on lending through the Bayanihan Banking Program. With this, OB projects are sustained and beneficiaries are helped be self- sufficient.Â
OB provides deserving indigent families with raw materials and equipment for small-scale businesses they are capable of running. These families enter into a commitment with OB to give back the “return-of-investment” in a period of time they themselves have decided.
OB travels nationwide to conduct month-long on-site training courses to prepare out-of-school youth and unemployed individuals for business or employment. Technical courses offered are dressmaking, air conditioner and refrigerator repair, practical electricity, woodworking, and mobile phone repair.
