Operation Blessing provides a diverse range of medical services to individuals and communities considered as the "poorest of the poor" and that have little or no access to proper healthcare. These services are extended to them through:
OB calls this Foot Doctor’s Seminar which provides basic information on cleanliness, hygiene, herbal medicines, and first aid measures among community leaders who will work directly with OB beneficiaries. Many illnesses can be prevented if individuals have basic knowledge on health issues.
OB aims to serve people from hard to reach areas and who are rarely served medical attention through its medical and dental missions. OB conducts medical, dental and optical check-up, dental procedures (extraction, filling, flouridization), minor surgery, and some laboratory procedures.Â
Seeing the need to send people to hospitals and have them undergo needed medical interventions, OB refers some of its beneficiaries to its partner doctors and health institutions and, if necessary, help network with other stakeholders in covering some, if not all, of the medical expenses.Â
Innocent smiles of children bring unexplainable joy to anyone’s heart. However, some children have difficulty smiling because of cleft lip and/or palate. In partnership with hospitals and volunteer doctors, OB conducts free cleft lip and/or palate surgery to indigent children, restoring their joy and hope. Our hope is to develop a half-way house for these patients where they can completely go through the process of healing before returning to their homes.
Knowing that mobility is important to a person’s self-perception, daily life and progress, OB, together with several partners, distribute wheelchair to needy persons. The disability can be from birth or result of an accident. Through the wheelchairs, affected persons, as well as their families, will be helped to have more comfortable and productive lives. Persons with disabilities and their families are also provided assistance to livelihood and other medical needs.
