Operation Blessing Foundation Philippines, Inc. (OB) works to fight hunger, disease, unemployment, illiteracy, and abuse—one family, one community at a time. The worldwide mission of OB is to demonstrate God’s love by alleviating the plight of those in great need by feeding the hungry and caring for the weak.
Through medical intervention and disaster relief, provision of education, coaching for the development of life skills and microenterprise activities, and addressing basic health and nutrition needs, OB exemplifies Christian compassion and benevolence.
Over the past 14 years, OB has launched almost 1,000 medical missions in the farthest areas of the country, from Batanes to Tawi-tawi, providing both healthcare and livelihood aid to families. Disaster relief teams have responded quickly to the worst calamities that hit the country, helping over half a million people.
To date, more than a million of the poorest of the poor Filipinos have been healed, treated, fed, schooled, counseled and trained through various humanitarian outreaches spearheaded by OB, or in collaboration with other partner agencies present in our target localities such as non-profit organizations, local government units, some national government offices, such as the Department of Health and the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), and even the Armed Forces of the Philippines.
In recognition of OB’s efforts in promoting peace and nation building in impoverished provinces in the country, it was awarded as NGO of the Year for Peace Efforts by the Armed Forces of the Philippines in 2002 and 2003, and as NGO of the Year by the Philippine Army in 2006 and 2007.
OB is registered with the DSWD as a Social Work Agency, as well as licensed to operate and implement social welfare programs all over the Philippines. OB also works with other government and non-government agencies, both in the local and national levels, churches and other groups which serve the best interest of its target beneficiaries.
