There were signs of anxieties. He could not move, but his eyes expressed the desire to communicate his needs.

Alfredo Otoy is 69 years old and he is suffering from physical paralysis. There were fears but his desire to seek medical assistance prompted his family to go to the Operation Blessing Medical Mission.
They live a few kilometers away from the mission site, Labo, Camarines Norte, but the medical mission was in opportunity that they could never miss.

It was the first day of the eleven-day medical mission of Operation Blessing in Camarines Norte and Camarines Sur. Eleven municipalities were chosen and these are the poorest in the area. People in these places have to resort to self-medication because of financial limitations.
It was an opportunity for the residents of Labo. It was a sign of hope, an assurance that there is an answer to their difficulties.

OB Medical Mission volunteers and OB Thailand manager, Sakchai Puaungjakta
went to Bicol with the vision that somehow lives will be changed and people will see that the true physician who can deliver them from any disease is the Master Physician, Jesus Christ.

TUESDAY, 27 July 2004
Operation Blessing visited Jose Panganiban, Camarines Norte on this date. There, they treated a group of Aetas along with families from several barangays in the municipalities. Helen, one of the Aetas, was suffering from a severe case of boils on the upper part of her body. Upon her treatment, the Aetas were also given food and clothes before they went home.

The team left in high spirits as they prepared for the visit to San Lorenzo Ruiz on the following day.

Everyday is a testimony. Every mission, an opportunity to share the gift of faith. The OB team's last day in Camarines Norte proved that each person has the abiliy to be an instrument for change.
Different cases, different stories- a child with muscular dystrophy who found hope in the doctor's prayers, a group of Aeta's who literally had their first taste of medicine, and the countless individuals who not only experienced medical treatment but also the loving power of God. [Almost seventy percent gave their lives to Jesus.]

Different testimonies, different stories but all found refuge and strength in the reality that the Master Physician will not only take care of their physical needs but their spiritual needs as well.

THURSDAY, 29 July 2004
Thursday was a rainy day for missions, but the team went on with their task nonetheless. This would be the second time an OB mission team has been sent to this municipality. OB first visited Del Gallego after 3 years. Perhaps one of the most urgent cases they encountered was that of a farmer who had accidentally hacked his leg with a bolo. Mayor Bayani Veluz, who was there at that time, had the patient rushed to the provincial hospital after preliminary treatment from the OB doctors.

FRIDAY, 30 July 2004
It wasn't just the sick that the OB team ministered to. They also brought happiness to countless children with their gift of toys, games and stories. One 11 year-old girl in Baya, Ragay Camarines Sur was particularly overwhelmed with her new Barbie doll- which turned out to be her first doll ever. The OB team also gave free haircuts, free circumcision, and relief items to the people in the barangays they reached.
Through all these, the OB team was dutifully escorted by the military personnel from the 9th Infantry division of the Philippine army.
